A friendly guide to your festival day

Buddy Program

QPAC’s Buddy Program is designed to help make the Out of the Box festival experience as smooth, enjoyable and stress-free as possible for large groups.

Out of the Box transforms venues and spaces across QPAC into a vibrant world of performances, workshops, installations and activities for children. With so much to see and do, navigating the festival can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially for larger groups with busy schedules.

That's where our Buddies come in.

Each participating school, early learning centre or group is paired with a dedicated QPAC Buddy who will help guide them throughout their festival visit. Before your arrival, your Buddy will make contact to introduce themselves and confirm your arrival details. On the day, they'll meet your group and assist with wayfinding between performances, workshops and activities, helping ensure everyone stays on schedule and gets the most out of their festival experience.

Our Buddies know QPAC inside and out, including some festival spaces that may be unfamiliar even to regular visitors. While teachers and carers focus on their students, Buddies can help with the logistics of moving around the precinct, making the day easier for everyone.

Think of your Buddy as a friendly guide, helping your group navigate the adventure so you can focus on enjoying all the creativity, imagination and wonder that Out of the Box has to offer. We encourage all groups bringing children to QPAC for the first time to request a Buddy.
