Queensland Performing Arts Centre
Cascade Court A covered outdoor area at the entrance to QPAC. Most of the children's seating is on ground mats, but there are also tables and chairs and the Café and Bistro are close by.
Concert Hall
QPAC's second largest venue is a traditional concert space with theatre-style seating and featuring an enormous pipe organ. Allocated (numbered) seating will apply for all performances in the Concert Hall.
Concert Hall Foyer
A large gathering space outside the Concert Hall on the Melbourne Street side of QPAC, the foyer will be transformed into a performance space for the duration of the festival.
Cremorne Theatre
QPAC's smallest theatre, allowing the audience to get close to the action.
Function Room and Rooftop Terrace
This bright, open room is on QPAC's Rooftop and overlooks the Brisbane River. It features an indoor and outdoor area.
Lyrebird Restaurant
Located at the main entrance to QPAC and overlooking the Cascade Court, QPAC's a la carte restaurant will transform during the festival into a workshop space.
Lyric Balcony Foyer
Located on Level 2, with views to the Queensland Museum and the Kurilpa Bridge, this foyer will be transformed into a workshop space for the festival.
Lyric Theatre
The Lyric Theatre is QPAC's largest venue, featuring stalls and two balconies overlooking a large stage. Allocated (numbered) seating will apply.
Lyric Theatre Stalls Foyer
A large gathering space located on Level 1 outside the Lyric Theatre on the Melbourne Street side of QPAC featuring some foyer seating and workshop space.
Lyric Theatre Lounge
A bright open space on Level 4 on the riverside of QPAC.
Melbourne Street Green
A delightful green space on the corner of Melbourne and Grey Street, next to QPAC's Cafe. The Green will be transformed into a performance space for the festival but will be available on weekdays from 11.50am - 12.30pm and weekends from 12.50pm - 2pm as a picnic lunch space.
Playhouse
The Playhouse is a modern *proscenium arch theatre. Allocated (numbered) seating will apply.
*A proscenium arch is the arch which stands between the stage and auditorium. A proscenium arch theatre is a conventional theatre with a proscenium arch, usually without a forestage.
Playhouse Green
Another of QPAC’s green spaces on the corner of Grey and Russell Streets. This space will become a performance venue for the festival.
Playhouse Lounge
Another bright space, overlooking the Brisbane River to the City on Level 4, towards the South Bank Parklands end of QPAC.
Playhouse Rear
The space at the rear of the main Playhouse stage, will be transformed into a workshop area. The doors to access the Playhouse Rear stage are located beside the entrance to Studio 1 at the Playhouse.
Studio 1
Access is via the Playhouse foyer area of QPAC, Studio 1 is a large open space on Level 2. Children will be seated on cushions on the floor. Some seating will be available for adults.
Studio 2
Access is via the Playhouse foyer area of QPAC, Studio 2 is a large open space on Level 5. Children will be seated on cushions on the floor. Some seating will be available for adults.
Tony Gould Gallery
The gallery is on the ground level and is accessed via the Cremorne Theatre entrance of QPAC. The gallery will be transformed into a performance space during the festival.
Tunnel
The tunnel runs through the heart of QPAC from Grey St to the River and will host free activities for children as well as a chill-out zone for parents and carers.
South Bank
Cultural ForecourtLocated in front of QPAC next to the river and the Victoria Bridge, the Cultural Forecourt is a great place to stop for a picnic lunch and enjoy some of the free activities at the festival.
Queensland Museum South Bank
The newly refurbished Queensland Museum is located on the corner of Grey and Melbourne Streets within the Cultural Precinct. The workshop space is located on Level 2.
Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA)
Children’s Art CentreLocated within the Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA), the Children’s Art Centre can be found on Level 1.
State Library of Queensland
Knowledge Walk
The Knowledge Walk leads through the ground level and into the heart of the State Library.
The Edge
The Edge is annexed to State Library of Queensland, on the side closest to the Queensland Art Gallery. Housed inside are window bays, workshops spaces and a 200-seat auditorium.
The Studio
Located next to Reception and opposite The Library Shop, this large studio space will be transformed into a workshop space during the festival.
Auditorium 1
Located next to the Queensland Terrace, performances in Auditorium 1 can be accessed via Level 2 during the festival.
