World Premiere Season
Grug invents his own dance and calls it The Grug. When snails eat his cabbages, Grug plants more. Now there will be enough cabbages for both Grug and the snails.
The hugely popular Grug (with 52,000 Facebook fans!) is brought to life for very young audiences in this wonderful theatre performance about Grug's fascination with the world, and his ability to solve everyday problems creatively and without fuss.
Based on the much-loved picture book character by Ted Prior.
Commissioned for Out of the Box 2010.
"The playfulness and theatricality used to transform moments is done effortlessly which proves to be an absolute delight for the vocal audience." Lowdown Online magazine
"Grug is lively theatre for 1-5 year olds with action, physicality and marvelous reveals which thoroughly appeal to the humour of the young audience... It is done in such a way that the audience is invited in to storytelling and shown how the story will unfold but always holds back a little magic to surprise... a totally satisfying mix for all involved." Lowdown Online magazine
"On a very clever, adaptable set with artwork from Jonathon Oxlade, director Sam Haren delivers six well packaged Grug stories in fine style." Sunday Mail (Adelaide)
"Who'd have thought so much fun would come from the top of a burrawong tree." Sunday Mail (Adelaide)
"... a major hit with the young audience members." The Advertiser
