Bookings 

Q. I know the festival is very popular. Will my booking be registered in order of receipt? 
A. Yes. School bookings can be made online.  Bookings will be accepted from 8.00am Monday 15 March 2010.

Q. How can I make sure we get into our preferred workshops?  
A. Workshops are very popular. For all workshops we recommend that you fill out all three options. 

Q. Will there be enough free activities so children don't have to wait in line? 
A. A large free events program is planned. Have a close look at the program before arriving and if one free event is busy, move to your next option. Out of the Box extends across the Cultural Centre. There will be free activities at QPAC, Queensland Art Gallery, Gallery of Modern Art, Queensland Museum and State Library of Queensland. Some free activities, such as Looking at Hats and Eye Spy Insects require schools to book. Details for these activities can be found  on the Trails page of the festival website.

Q. How do we ensure we have the right production or event for our age group?
A. Essentials for teachers - a performance and workshop guide [PDF 206KB] includes a suitability rating. This is a recommendation only. Out of the Box recognises that children will react individually to performances. 

Further suggestions are available on the festival website. Revisit the site regularly for updated information.

On-site assistance

Q. Is there someone to help me get my group of students around the festival site?  
A. In response to feedback from the 2008 festival, we have enlisted an 'army' of volunteers that will be highly visible across the Cultural precinct to provide directions and up-to-date program information.  Volunteers wearing the Out of the Box festival t-shirt will assist with directions to your performance or workshop venue. Front-of-house staff at each venue, identified by their uniforms, will also be available to assist groups.

Q. I have children with individual needs. What access do we have to the venues?
A. All students are welcome! We recommend that you identify your special requirements when booking.
