What is Out of the Box?

Out of the Box is a biennial event held at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) from 8 to 14 June 2010.

Out of the Box is one of a kind in Australia as a week long cultural and arts event dedicated to children. Over 9 previous festivals, the experience of our young audiences, their teachers and parents has been enhanced by the dedication and enthusiasm of hundreds of volunteers.

The festival will be held across the Cultural Centre precinct as we are working with the Queensland Art Gallery, Gallery of Modern Art, Queensland Museum and State Library of Queensland. This year, the festival will be very special as it will be the 10th Out of the Box and it is the first time the festival is aimed at children of all ages from 8 years old and under and their families. 2010 also marks the year of QPAC's 25th Anniversary so it will be a very exciting time for QPAC.
